Uri: The Surgical Strike (2019)
First great action movie by Bollywood this year!
URI: THE SURGICAL STRIKE is the first great action movie by Bollywood this year. Stylish guns, cool explosions and a clapworthy execution make this film truly epic by all standards. Vicky Kaushal, please do more such action movies in the future. You've earned a sincere fan.
If you're an action buff or/and a viewer who likes real-event movies, this one is a must watch. URI is handled well by Aditya Dhar who balances action and emotion very well. Don't mistake it for a war movie. It's about a surgical strike, which means a military attack carried out with the intention of damaging only a legitimate military target and to prevent a full-blown war.
Action is the best thing about the film. If you're a PUBG fan, the nonstop action will definitely impress you. While most of the action involves guns, some fight sequences involving fists will also make a crunchy impact. The director has tried to avoid gore for a major part and thus it's low even in the few parts where it's present.
All actors impressed big time. Vicky Kaushal finally did an action movie and didn't disappoint. Paresh Rawal's neat performance is praiseworthy. Yami Gautam and Kirti Kulhari also shine in their strongly written roles. Mohit Raina makes his presence felt. Music, dialogues and cinematography are all top notch.
It was after a long time that the multiplex audience cheered throughout and clapped at the end of a movie. I'm one of them too.
Bagli Talkies (2018)
A fresh, intense, heart-wrenching drama about the falling times of single screen cinemas.
I was really impressed with the subject the director chose.
BAGLI TALKIES is a very fresh film given the fact that it tackles a very common and burning issue which many might not even consider one. A true cinema lover can really understand what is meant by watching a film only on the big screen. The growing trend of watching movies on small screens, that too pirated prints, is affecting single screen cinemas which once used to draw huge crowds and often displayed houseful boards.
Those days are almost gone.
Since I've myself seen a good number of movies in single screen cinemas, I can understand the point the director tried to make. I watched it at the Chambal International film festival where the director said that films are meant to be seen on the big screen, at least multiplex cinemas if not necessarily single screens. I agree.
This isn't just a movie. It's a display of the reality we are pretty much aware of but aren't willing to consider it that important. Performance, screenplay and execution wise, this film completely won my heart.
I'd strongly recommend it if you want to see a fresh and original film in the drama genre.
A visual wonder!
AQUAMAN released in India one week before its US release and yet I watched it just a few days ago. The IMAX 3D experience was just outstanding! I won't be lying if I say I enjoyed the film to the core. It's a complete visual spectacle with lots of action and adventure. Great performances and direction made it stronger. If you like superhero movies, this is a must watch.
One of the best things about this film is that while most superhero movies do justice to the action aspects and the adventure aspect often gets overshadowed, AQUAMAN is a complete action adventure. You don't just get breathtaking action set pieces but also a lot of enchanting locales. The entire CGI work is impressive and that's another reason to watch it in IMAX 3D.
Jason Momoa is very impressive, as is Amber Heard. Their combo makes the story more fun as they go places. Willem Dafoe is back with another solid act. Nicole Kidman is quite good, as are rest of the cast members. James Wan has done a great job with the direction by sticking to the plot and not resorting to unwanted subplots. The background score is also very impressive.
I had seen and liked BATMAN V SUPERMAN, JUSTICE LEAGUE and MAN OF STEEL but not on the big screen. There was no way in which I could afford missing AQUAMAN. It's a treat to the eyes and a perfect entertainer for the big screen. From the action sequences to the adventure moments, it will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Vada Chennai (2018)
Outstanding crime action movie!
VADA CHENNAI is an outstanding crime action movie by Vetrimaaran! Dhanush & Andrea Jeremiah are the ultimate winners with their strong performances. The plot is fresh & entertaining, devoid of unnecessary elements. Action is intense as promised by the promos. Sandhanatha song is catchy and my favorite one from the film. Editing is also a plus point as the film stays to the point without resorting to unwanted subplots. Vetrimaaran has developed the story and characters very well. A few twists are also present, and they're bound to surprise anyone.
If you like crime action movies with plot, characters and action balanced accordingly, this is the film for you. It's fast paced and there's a heart to the storytelling. I started watching it and got pulled into the atmosphere. That's how a great crime action movie is made!
A refreshing, exciting supernatural action movie!
I have to admit that watching this movie was absolutely amazing experience. Constantine is a very unique film that feels new in many ways. An action horror with a superb protagonist played by a similarly impressive Keanu Reeves, the screenplay has got it all right: the action, the characters, the scares, the visual effects and many more things. It's different from a contemporary movie even in terms of tone and execution. If you like supernatural action movies, this one won't disappoint!
K.G.F: Chapter 1 (2018)
An epic win for the Kannada film industry. KGF is a pan-Indian masterpiece.
I don't need to say that this film will set the Box Office down the southern states, on fire.
But for the northern states, I'll have to say that please go and watch this movie if you love action dramas! This isn't a dull gangster movie or a long documentary, it's just intelligent, smart, stylish, stunning fun with a heart!
KGF is a win for the whole Kannada film industry. Every single frame oozes a pan-Indian appeal. So no matter what language you watch it in, you'll get the feel of a straight film. Prashanth Neel's direction is stunning given that it's just his second directorial film. Yash is definitely the new pan-Indian star. His performance is beyond judging. The film is long in duration but I never realized that!
Since it's a period action film, KGF delivers much more than what the trailers showed. It has action, adventure, drama and some suspense that will keep you glued till the end. It's neither funny nor too dark, and hence a properly balanced film. The dialogues are so crisp that I was literally smiling with excitement.
Cinematography is mindblowing. The depiction of the Kolar Gold Fields is so stunning that you'll have a tough time finding an excuse for not watching it on the big screen. The action scenes were way above my expectations: each and every action sequence was phenomenally executed. Not many songs but all of them register big time.
KGF isn't just for the Kannada-speaking people but for anyone who likes to watch action movies with a wholehearted execution. Once again, Hindi viewers, please don't regret later on when it'll be playing on TV and internet. Just go for it. As for me, I'll now watch more of Yash and Neel's filmography. I know I won't be the only one waiting for the second chapter of this epic.
Green Zone (2010)
Action in Iraq, Bourne style!
Loved the BOURNE series? Looking for more of Matt Damon-Paul Greengrass' combo movies? If yes, then you must watch GREEN ZONE, a watertight action thriller with a fast-paced plot and explosive action sequences.
Set during the Iraq War, GREEN ZONE is edited so well that there's almost no unnecessary subplot or slow burn to test your patience. And for a moment if you forget the fact that it's a film set in Iraq, there are references to war, and most importantly, Matt Damon plays a character called Roy Miller, you'll find it to be another solid BOURNE movie jam-packed with action, intensity and a terrific plot.
I'm one of the admirers of the director's shaky cam technique because he's really effective at pulling it off. In this film too, given its tone and setting, the hand-held cinematography does justice to the subject. Be it the action or just another scene, the feel of an intense film oozes throughout.
Matt Damon has another terrific role and has acted very well, but as opposed to the BOURNE movies, GREEN ZONE isn't just about one character. Supporting characters also matter a lot. What's super amazing is that Greengrass has refrained from adding unnecessary weepy scenes and creates the dramatic tension with the dialogues and action. It's not a visual gem, due to a reason you'll understand yourself upon watching it but is still a film to watch in the highest possible quality.
It breaks my heart to realize that this film was a commercial failure. I still can't believe it. Nevertheless, I'm glad that I saw this on a purchased original DVD and now it'll be a part of my collection.
Doo namja (2016)
A film that can haunt you for long.
DERAILED is another dark action film from South Korea that becomes hard to forget after it ends. It's a film which is so real in presentation that it's hard to believe it's really just a fictional film. It has got a high amount of action and it's shot extremely well, but it's a different kind of action film which doesn't intend to provide merely escapist fun. The darkness and emptiness in life, the strength of friendship, the value of relationships : everything is blended in this film and packaged very well within a duration of just 91 minutes, something many directors, sadly, fail to do even in the 2 hours duration.
Performances by every actor are great and realistic. Direction is superb and there's that unique "indie film" feel to it. DERAILED is a strongly scripted action film which sadly might not have seen by many people, but nevertheless leaves a strong impact, further haunting you especially after the end. It can even make you cry.
Singwa hamkke: Ingwa yeon (2018)
Different and somewhat better than the prequel.
First off, I loved the first part to the core. It was action-packed, emotional and magical.
This happens with LAST 49 DAYS also. It has a lot of action, drama, some comedy and twists presented in a screenplay that is thoroughly engaging and will keep you hooked to the end despite of long duration.
The guardians are all excellent as before, but this time their characters have been explored so well that no glitches matter after a point of time. Ha Jung-woo excels in the film with his strong expressions and dialogue delivery. Surprisingly enough, Ju Ji-hoon takes the cake for an astonishing performance, while Kim Hyang-gi still delivers a cute performance. Ma Dong-seok is a worthy addition to the cast and you'll love his character. Lee Jung-jae is brilliant as he was in the first one. Kim Dong-wook is superb.
The action sequences are once again breathtaking but this time the director has kept them more grounded. From chases to superhero-esque fights to sword fights etc: every action block clicks. The director has used action sequences in a very interesting way, making them an integral part of the story while not losing grip on the characters or story. Visual effects are still dazzling but the focus seems more on story than CGI so it's a little less glossy than the prequel.
The emotional depth of the characters makes them extremely likable. Perhaps this is another thing which makes this fantasy action sequel a bit better than the THE TWO WORLDS, even though the prequel has an upper hand in terms of pacing, action choreography and visual spectacle.
Minority Report (2002)
High-concept SF action blockbuster!
Minority Report is a high concept sci-fi action blockbuster which blends in neo-noir and whodunit elements very well. Creativity is at its peak in this film, as Steven Spielberg has not only extracted a terrific performance from his cast, especially Tom Cruise, but also mixed action, suspense and tech with superb visual effects and a unique screenplay skillfully.
Brick Mansions (2014)
Nonstop action blockbuster!
Brick Mansions is a fun action movie filled with lots of action. Parkour, fistfights, chases, gunplay etc: all that's needed in an action entertainer is here. Paul Walker did a great job, and I feel sorry it was his last movie. David Belle excels in the parkour sequences. RZA is also decent.
This isn't a complex drama or something which requires to think much. All you need to do is get a DVD/BD/Digital copy, grab a tub of popcorn and watch this movie either alone or with a friend, if you like pure action movies in which mostly the action does the talking, although there are some other interesting surprises as well.
10/10, because it succeeds at what it intends to do: entertain action lovers.
A TRUE comic-book action adventure!
I totally enjoyed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in IMAX 3D. It was action-packed, funny, at times emotional, inspiring & completely exhilarating. A TRUE comic-book movie. Great for kids & families. It has also got a great, memorable music. As it's a Spidey movie, there's a lot of action as said before and it's executed very well. Every single Spidey is impressive. It's not only for kids but also for adults who won't mind bringing out the kid within themselves. I myself felt like those days, when I watched animated Spider-Man on television with an action figure in my hand, were back.
In short, it's a must watch action-adventure movie. Plus, there's an interesting post credits scene, so if you want, you can stay. And of course, love and respect for you Stan Lee, may your soul rest in peace.
An entertaining action-war movie!
PALTAN works because it's sincere to its subject and the events its based on. It's very simple and straightforward in the terms of plot and execution. In the first half, there are some shortcomings in the form of loud performances by a few actors, but eventually, the plot and action sequences make you forgive these blemishes. The CGI in a few scenes is weak, but the overall presentation of the film by JP Dutta is praiseworthy.
Arjun Rampal comes with the finest performance among all, while Sonu Sood and Harshvardhan Rane also come up with terrific performances. Gurmeet Choudhary's performance in the first half feels too loud and dialogue delivery confirms it. But later on, he goes on to improve in the second half. Jackie Shroff is decent. Rest of the cast is decent.
PALTAN is first and foremost, a beautifully shot film. From the sands to rivers to mountains to sky: everything looks extremely picturesque. Another plus point of the film is the action. Unlike most war movies, this one's high on action from start to finish. The level of gore has been kept as minimal as possible and hence it's not A rated. From gunplay to explosions to fights, PALTAN delivers plenty of well-placed action sequences throughout.
The plot is very good as the film moves with a good sense of tension and emotion mixed well.
This isn't about the horrors of war or any special propaganda. It's just about what the war-torn past would have looked like. It's meant to be and is entertaining. PALTAN is a simple but entertaining escapist affair. Kinda long but effective action-war drama.
2.0 is the epitome of sci-fi action movies. This is why we go to movies.
2.0 is a remarkable visual extravaganza! Factors like an excellent screenplay, watertight editing, breakneck action and high quality VFX prove why we go to movies. It's a terrific, creative sci-fi actioner. Hats off to Shankar, Akshay, Amy and Rajni sir.
It showcases the ultimate creativity Shankar holds. Be it the tech or the action scenes, you get to see a lot of original, creative moments which will make you exhilarated. He's made even the simplest of all scenes visually impressive. Rajiniknath is impressive as always. His stunning screen presence will keep you on the edge of your seat. His performance oozes a lot of energy and shows he's always ready to entertain us, no matter what the role is and what its age is.
I was always excited about Akshay Kumar's character and he didn't disappoint. He will make you go through a range of emotions and will make you question your own actions if you're a thoughtful viewer. It's great to see him in an action movie after so long. Amy Jackson's character is well written and is not like just another damsel in distress. She plays her character with finesse.
Rest of the cast does its job well.
Coming to the technical aspects, I have to say this is international quality stuff. In 3D, the experience becomes much more immersive. From the title cards to the final most moment, every single detail has been brought out extremely well. I really wished to see it in IMAX/4DX but it didn't get any such release. That's fine since the film's quality remains top notch irrespective of the screen size.
The action in this film will literally blow your mind. From bright explosions to energetic fights to terrific stunts: the film has plenty of action to satisfy any action fan. The editing is watertight as not a single second is wasted. Shankar uses music and the action blocks very intelligently as well as effectively, and as result of this balancing, nothing feels under or overdone.
Another major thing to be lauded in 2.0 is the fact that they have not DUBBED every single scene in Hindi. Especially in case of Akshay Kumar, that makes the film overcome lip sync errors. And the rest of the film is dubbed very well.
No matter what language you speak, this film will pull you into its atmosphere. It has got something for everyone. This is a cinematic wonder we must cherish as well as relish. This film ultimately proves those days are gone when we thought only Hollywood could produce something as huge as this. This is an Indian film, and to see it excel both in terms of production and entertainment is nothing but pure joy and sheer pride. 2.0 is indeed the epitome of sci-fi action movies.
One of the most fast-paced, strongly edited movies of all time!
The best thing about VALKYRIE more than anything else is its pace. It's rare to find any movie with such an incredible fast pace in these days, let past days alone. Even thrillers these days venture more into drama and the suspense factor takes a backseat.
This isn't the case with VALKYRIE.
The reason? It's packaged more as a thriller than a drama and that's why the suspense remains watertight and the plot, brreathtaking. Most historical film stretch beyond 2 and a half hours, while VALKYRIE stays to the point without any subplots or unnecessary drama to hinder the pace.
I didn't realize how quickly time flew by. Brian Singer did an effective job at pulling off a historical thriller. Tom Cruise shines in a dramatic role which has been written very well. Rest of the cast also makes a mark, and does exactly what is needed in this plot-based film.
VALKYRIE is dominated by a strong, tension-filled plot which remains suspenseful even till the end. No matter whether you're already aware of the facts, the film will keep you glued to the end.
There are a few action bits which have been executed very well, especially the one in the beginning. A few more of such sequences could've been added but the balancing is so proper that nothing really feels less or more.
I'd strongly recommend VALKYRIE to those who enjoy historical thrillers or just simply thrillers. And I need not to say that it's a must watch for Tom Cruise fans, as I've myself watched it for the same reason.
Go Paul (2017)
A gripping thriller, must watch!
I remember watching this film at the Chambal International Film Festival 2018, where it was the closing film and even won awards. Los Paul/Go Paul is an exciting short film that blends black humor, thrill and even some action very well.
For its entire duration, the film kept me engaged. Not a single dull moment, and it had some really good twists, especially at the end. I personally had a great laugh at some of the funniest moments. As for the cast, all actors gave a good performance. The director and writer have also done a splendid job in packing an intelligent story within a short duration, something for which the editor too needs to be lauded.
What else do I need to say? Go watch "Go Paul" if you find it somewhere!
Thugs of Hindostan (2018)
A fun action-adventure!
As I've been seeing the reviews, I still can't understand what's all the hatred and negativity all about? Did you expect Thugs of Hindostan to be an offbeat film? If you did, then you're at fault since it's meant to entertain and exhilarate the viewer with its action sequences, visuals, music, comedy and fun apart from memorable characters. Thugs is a light hearted action adventure with no vulgarity or obscenity and is a film families will relish. Don't expect it to be dark or extremely serious because it never was meant to be.
Among the cast, Amitabh Bachchan deserves a huge round if applause for his action hero role written efficiently. I really had goosebumps the moment he entered. His energy shows up in the action sequences and parts where he gets some of the best lines in the film. Aamir Khan has played his part very effectively. His character is surprisingly complex and his comic timing is fun. He also excels in the action sequences, and so does Fatima Sana Shaikh, who gets a lot of white knuckle action scenes to perform. Katrina is just there, but is decent. Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub evokes great laughs.
Screenplay is neatly written and editing is top notch. Music is good. Action sequences are electrifying. Cinematography and visual effects are splendid.
Thugs of Hindostan is meant to entertain, and it succeeds in doing that. It's a fun, colorful action-adventure epic which will not let you down. This is complete fun. I really loved it.
A solid entry in the MI series; a stunning action movie.
ROGUE NATION has a lot of excellent action sequences which make it one of the best action movies of all time. Tom Cruise drives all the action with energy, while Christopher McQuarrie directs with full intensity. Rebecca Ferguson is a worthy inclusion in the cast. She excels in the action sequences, making her one of the top action heroines in today's times. The entire cast acts with the same energy and intensity. Action sequences elevate the film to a higher level. The chase sequences are so breakneck that you'd have to be an ignorant viewer not to like them. There are good twists as well, and the scale is huge as always. The MI franchise has always improved on the next film, and this one proves me right.
Highly impressive action blockbuster.
GHOST PROTOCOL is one of the best action movies of all time. It's also one of the greatest MI movies. It's however even more visually stunning and spectacular than the first three movies as it takes the mission to various parts of the globe. As the team keeps shifting from location to location, fun gets doubled up. The film reaches a major high point when the team arrives in Dubai and from there on to the end, the entertainment level keeps getting higher. Tom Cruise is one of the greatest action heroes of all time. He has excelled in the action sequences as usual, and you'll definitely love all the action blocks not only because they're executed and choreographed well, but also because of the cinematography and the fact that the action is real.
Mission: Impossible III (2006)
Lives up to its title; it's really a "Mission Impossible"!
The first two movies were action packed, thrilling and overall highly entertaining, and so is MI 3. But this one simply outdoes both of them single handedly. MI 3 is the most powerful and one of the best films in the franchise which gets everything right: action, performances, suspense, scale and of course, its title. It really has situations which will make you care for the characters and even wonder if they can succeed. The challenges are intense and stakes are high. MI 3 is even more fun, and apart from all the explosions, stunts, chases and fights, the film also provides you a real menacing villain. Even today, MI 3 is one of the greatest action films of all time.
Mission: Impossible II (2000)
Highly entertaining action movie.
I feel this movie is quite underrated. While it's not as complex as the first one and the plot is comparatively much easier to understand, MI 2 has its own positives, especially its action sequences. Tom Cruise shines in this one too, and John Woo has extracted a good performance from his cast. The film is a good combination of action and espionage, making it a remarkable action entertainer. While certain twists in the film were exciting, what made me the most happy is the film's action. The climactic action block is excellently cut and the fight choreography places it in my list of best action movies of all time. Recommended watching if you love action movies.
Mission: Impossible (1996)
An intelligent action movie.
The film which started the much-loved action franchise, Mission Impossible is a well written, well shot, well acted and further well executed action film which uses plot twists and action scenes very skillfully. Tom Cruise is remarkable as Ethan Hunt and the film's action sequences are highly impressive. This movie is a classic. If you want to watch a complexly plotted action movie with loads of entertainment, this is the movie to watch out for. Even though a few slow parts might make you a bit impatient, the action will not disappoint.
An intense, brutal, realistic action film by Trivikram.
When was the last time you saw action scenes getting this stylish and real simultaneously? ASVR doesn't hold back in terms of action getting violent, really violent. Right in the first 10-15 minutes, the story is setup without resorting to any pointless dialogue or melodrama. The film is very straightforward, and that's also what makes it ultimately gripping. While it has so many positive factors such as Jr. NTR's performance apart from that of rest of the cast as well as the watertight screenplay, one of the biggest highlights of the film is its action: which comes both with blood and a message.
It's not that Telugu cinema has taken up the issue of faction violence for the very first time. It has been successfully done in Koratala Siva's 2013 action drama MIRCHI as well. But ASVR manages to make a heavy impact and proves that freshness in execution matters more than freshness in the subject.
Jr. NTR has done a heart-winning job with his performance as usual. Get ready to see him portray one of the best performances of all time. He has definitely done an excellent job in the action sequences. Pooja Hegde is surprisingly excellent and her character is written and portrayed with utmost sincerity due t o which she doesn't feel a regular damsel in distress and instead feels a very important part of the film. Jagapathi Babu oozes the same energy and rage he has been successfully portraying since so long. Sunil is in a good form and character. A major surprise package is Supriya Pathak, who makes a stunning debut with this film.
Trivikram has balanced the action and dramatic episodes very well. Given that ASVR is a complete action entertainer, there's no shortage of the fights and dialogues one can expect in such movies. And as I said, the action this time is really intense. Some fights are as bloody as they can get, and certain amount of bloodshed might be shocking not only due to the intensity but also due to the fact that CBFC normally doesn't pass such scenes uncut.
Thaman's music is impressive, and no song feels forced at all. Editing is top notch as the film sticks to the main story instead of wandering with unnecessary comedy and romance tracks. VIsually, the film is a complete gem as all the fights and rural scenes have been showcased vibrantly.
On the whole, ASVR turns out to be an outstanding action movie which will definitely take a true cinema lover by storm. If you love intense action movies with stylish, brutal action as well as heart-wrenching family sentiments, this one will not let you down. After RANGASTHALAM this year, this is the second best rural action entertainer from TFI this year.
Venom is electrifying!
I knew it.
The film was not even half as bad as the critics said.
VENOM is the electrifying action movie you need to see in theaters. I saw it today in 4DX 3D and found it highly entertaining. There are a lot of white knuckle action scenes enhanced further by a solid CGI work. An exhilarating vehicular chase sequence had me excited to the core and so did all the other action sequences. Tom Hardy's performance is impressive. His interactions with Venom are heart winning.
VENOM is ultimately fast paced. I didn't realize when time flew by. This film has made me like Venom a lot. I liked him in SPIDER-MAN 3 also (which was a great movie in my opinion) but he wasn't portrayed as a hero in that one. In this one, Venom will definitely not be hated. There is also a good amount of comedy and horror present in the film although primarily this is an action movie with a science fiction setting.
VENOM definitely reminded me of the dark atmosphere built by Sam Raimi in his Spider-Man movies. That's another reason why I wanted to watch it. It's a highly entertaining action entertainer which needs to be seen and enjoyed as a whole. Since this is anyways an origin story, don't expect it to be overstuffed. Just book your tickets, grab some eatables, bring along a friend or be alone, and watch this film on the biggest screen possible, in 3D. Plus, there are some interesting surprises towards the end, so feel free to stay instead of just walking away.
P.S. - I have not read any Venom comics till date.
Red Sparrow (2018)
Well written, well executed, but could've been well edited.
There are always some films about which you just end up finding out on the internet or somewhere else and just can't ignore them. RED SPARROW is one of those movies.
I wanted a tension filled action-spy thriller, and that's what I got.
But the level of explicitness is what indeed shocked me to the core. There's a lot of sex and violent action throughout the film. It's not for the faint of heart. I was really finding it unbelievable that it got past the censors without a slight cut.
RED SPARROW has a fast paced first half and while there are subplots later on, it's only due to the thrilling tone of the film that it doesn't really feel boring. But by the time the second half is about to begin, it feels as if the film is already over in a way. The second half is fine but quite slow. Once again, the tone makes even the dullest of all sequences shine.
RED SPARROW excels in the writing. Those who enjoy thrillers will have a good time watching it, though even action fans who want action in limit will be satisfied. Don't expect action of ATOMIC BLONDE or MISSION IMPOSSIBLE kind. There's a good amount of well executed action in RED SPARROW as well, it's just that it's done in an unusual manner for action thrillers.
The film feels far too stretched at 140 minutes. Had the editing been tighter, RED SPARROW could've been a memorable watch worth watching again. It's a decent, one time watchable action thriller also worth watching due to Jennifer Lawrence's excellent, groundbreaking and realistic performance.
